love songs
I'm a cheeseball sucker for a good love song......now, I'm not talking about your run of the mill shitty love song like "When a man loves a woman". No, I'm talking about obscure love songs. One of my favorites is by Tool and is called "pushit"....truly disturbing and dark....just the way I like it. However, there are some lighter love songs I enjoy. The following is one of my favorite love songs.
Wondering Aloud
Wondering Aloud
How we feel today
Last night slipped the sunset
My hands in her hair
We are our own saviours
As we start, both our hearts, beating life
Into each other
Wondering Aloud
Will the years treat us well
As she floats in the kitchen
I'm tasting the smell
Of toast as the butter runs
Then she comes, spilling crumbs on the bed
And I shake my head
And it's only the giving that makes you
What you are
Beautiful song, short and sweet (1.5 minutes long)...gets me every time

Here's a love song... Fox on the Run
(chorus)
She walks through the corn leadin’ down to the river
Her hair shone like gold in the hot mornin’ sun
She took all the love that a poor boy could give her
And left me to die like a fox on the run
Like a fox, like a fox, like a fox on the run
Now everybody knows the reason for my fall
A woman tempted me down in paradise hall
This woman tempted me and she took me for a ride
Like a lonely fox, boys, I need a place to hide
(chorus)
Oh, we’ll drink a glass of wine, boys, to purify our soul
We’ll talk about the world and the friends we used to know
I see a string of girls who have put me on before
The game is nearly over and the hounds are at the door
(chorus)
Good one....not one of my favorite love songs, but good anyway. Never really listened to the lyrics of that one, but I can identify with it.
Jason, who sings your song? I've never heard it, but I like the realness of it.
But, what do redneck country singers know about love (besides that of truck, dog, and cousin?)If you want to talk about blaming women for original sin, here's another perspective on that from Ani DiFranco:
"adam and eve"
tonight you stooped to my level
i am your mangy little whore
now you're trying to find your underwear
and then your socks and then the door
and you're trying to find a reason
why you have to leave
but i know it's 'cuz you think you're adam
and you think i'm eve
you rhapsodize about beauty
and my eyes glaze
everything i love is ugly
i mean really, you would be amazed
just do me a favor
it's the least that you can do
just don't treat me like i am
something that happened to you
i am truly sorry about all this
you put a tiny pin prick
in my big red balloon
and as i slowly start to exhale
that's when you leave the room
i did not design this game
i did not name the stakes
i just happen to like apples
and i am not afraid of snakes
i am truly sorry about all this
i envy you your ignorance
i hear that it's bliss
so i let go the ratio
of things said to thing heard
as i leave you to your garden
and the beauty you preferred
and i wonder what of this
will have meaning for you
when you've left it all behind
i guess i'll even wonder
if you meant it
at the time
No, she's not just a raging man-hater; she's bisexual! So, this could be about a woman named Adam. I liked it in my younger, more bitter days. I'll have to ponder my current favorite love songs.

Wow!!! I thought my taste in lovesongs was dark. I've never heard the song, but I really like the lyrics. I hope that I've never been "Adam" to a women but I fear I may have been. I think some people have difficulty differentiating (is that a word?) love and sex. I had sexual relationships with a couple of women that was purely sex and friendship....nothing more. I made it clear from the start that I wasn't interested in dating them, but if they wanted sex that it would be fine. Unfortunately, these women couldn't separate the two and I ended up breaking at least one person's heart. That was a shame, because I really did enjoy their friendship. I just didn't like them enough for one reason or another to date them. Anyway, I digest. Here's a nice dark love song to get you through the bitter times. "I just want something I can never have" by Nine Inch Nails. It amplifies that aching in one's heart quite nicely.....Instructions for listening.....1. Light candles on shrine to unobtainable person 2. Put disc in cd player 3. press repeat 4. Listen to song over and over while contemplating slitting your wrists 5. Contemplate taking up Vodoo to create a love spell on said person 6. Contemplate how you will be able to get a lock of said person's hair for their vodoo doll 7. Realize you are too much of a lazy bastard to concoct a scheme to get a lock of said person's hair, let alone take up vodoo. 8. Despair over lack of determination 9. Masturbate, feel better, and go to bed. 10. Wash, rinse, repeat
