Here's to the lady

Back to back birthdays.....today's is Jade's. I just wanted to let her know how much she means to me. I'm very lucky to have a woman like her in my life, and I appreciate the moments we spend together. Anyone that would put up with my bullshit this long is a gem in my book. So, happy birthday baby....you mean the world to me. I love you.

40 gigs of goodness

Well, I finally broke down and bought an mp3 player. After seeing how handy Aaron's was on the float trip I decided to get one with a FM transmitter. I ended up getting a Toshiba model. It's pretty cool, small and light with a full color screen. The touch sensitive buttons are a little touchy though. It's taken 3 full days, but I will have my entire music collection on it by tonight. Mostly it took so long because I only have usb 1.0. The first day was tricky getting it to do what I wanted. Windows media player sucks balls for transfering. I have all these nice folders organized by artist and album. When I loaded them up into media player, it would make its own folders based on data on the tracks. So, instead of having a nice organized folder system, the damn thing would break it down based on spelling. So, instead of having one Frank Black folder, I would have 3 or 4 based on spelling and capitalization. Some of the folders would only have one or two tracks. I messed around with that for awhile trying to get it to do what I wanted...but it was useless. I ended up using the proprietary transfer software and it is much better. It keeps my music organized the way that I want it. I can't wait to try it out tonight. I put everything on there....even Dead can Dance just in case Cassie is around sometime and needs a fix. That's all for now....back to work.

Mancamp....HO!!!!!!!

In preparation for man camp, I spent some time at Bass Pro Shop today buying gear. Man, that place doesn't hold a candle to Cabella's. I thought it was supposed to be the end all, be all sportsman shop.....but it's not all that. For one, the place was tiny....maybe a third or a fourth the size of Cabella's. Also, no live animals? Lame! So, anyway, I stocked up on stuff so I won't be as miserable as the last time I went. Last time it poured rain and I wasn't prepared....I got soaked. I bought some waterproof overalls and jacket. They are so warm I probably won't have to layer much underneath if it's cold. I also bought some ski masks and gloves....I'm set. It'll be my luck that we get there and it's 60 degrees and sunny. Oh well, I know I will have a use for this stuff for years to come. It's bound to be cold at mancamp some year.

I thought this was a pretty cool photoshop. Could you imagine if they found a human skeleton that big? That would be crazy!
